Your information, explained

Effective September 5, 2026.

Scope and contact

This notice describes the Atherton Biz website. For privacy questions, corrections, access or deletion requests, use the Privacy topic on our contact form. This website is independent of the Town of Atherton.

Information you submit

New catering waitlist entries collect a name, email address, timestamp and confirmation of adult email follow-up consent. The form no longer asks for a phone number or delivery address; older entries may still contain those details. The Atherton Brief collects an email and signup consent. Other inquiry forms collect the fields shown, such as contact details, a business suggestion, property address or message, and a submission timestamp.

Do not include payment details, identification documents, medical information, information about children or private details about other people. Use the forms only if you are 18 or older. Youth-program inquiries must come from an adult parent or guardian.

How information is used

Submissions support the specific inquiry, waitlist, correction, privacy request or newsletter signup. Catering and service inquiries do not subscribe you to the Brief. Neither form is an order, payment or booking. Regular Brief email delivery has not been connected.

Storage, recipients and security

Production submissions are held in private Vercel Blob storage. Authorized administrators review them through Google sign-in and authorization checks. Vercel hosts the website and processes network requests, which may include IP addresses and technical logs. Google processes administrator sign-in information. We may need to disclose information when legally required or to address security incidents. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Optional analytics and browser privacy signals

Google Analytics is off by default. You can allow it or turn it off using Your privacy choices in the footer. A choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days, unless you clear it earlier. Clearing storage or expiration returns analytics to off. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep optional analytics off even if you previously allowed it.

If allowed, Google Analytics can receive technical browser, device, page-use and interaction information and use analytics cookies. Advertising consent is not granted by this control. We exclude admin, contact and search routes from our analytics initialization and avoid initializing it on URLs containing a query string. Our custom event messages contain event names rather than form-field values. Read Google's information about partner sites.

Turning analytics off stops future optional collection on this browser; it does not automatically erase data already processed by Google. The site attempts to remove its accessible Google Analytics cookies when you turn it off. You can also clear site data in your browser.

External content and essential processing

Some photographs load from Wikimedia servers, which receive a network request independently of the optional analytics setting. External links, including app links, lead to services with their own privacy practices. Hosting, form submission, security and administrator sign-in still require processing when analytics is off.

Retention and privacy requests

Submissions currently remain in storage for inquiry and website operations until removed; a fixed automatic-deletion schedule has not been implemented. You may request access, correction, deletion or removal from a contact list through the Privacy topic on our contact form. Provide the email used for the submission, but not identity documents. We may need to verify your request. Legal recordkeeping obligations may limit deletion in a particular case.

For a request about children's information, do not repeat the child's sensitive details in the message. Ask the administrator to contact you privately.

Updates to this notice

Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a new use needs consent, the existing signup is not permission for that new use.
